Prisms
Prisms are the blocks of optical materials with flat polished sides arranged at precisely controlled angles to each other, which deflect, deviate and rotate beams of light as well as dispersing their wavelengths.
Prisms Type:

Right Angle Prisms can be used to deviate a light path by 90° or 180°, depending on which surface is used as the input for the light source. These prisms are fabricated from N-BK7, UV fused silica, CaF2, or ZnSe, and they are offered in sizes ranging from 3 mm to 60 mm.

A Dove prism is used to rotate, invert, or retroreflect an image, depending upon the prism’s rotation angle and the surface through which the light enters the prism.the prisms can be thought of as right-angle prisms with the triangular apex removed, which reduces the weight of the prism and stray internal reflections.

MOK offers wedge prisms with high precision which are ideal for laser beam steering. Our prisms are made of BK7, UV fused silica, CaF2 etc. Coating options include no coating, AR coating, dichroic mirror coating.

Penta prisms change the direction of an incident beam by 90° without inverting or reversing it, they are insensitive to the angle of incidence. Our penta prisms are fabricated from N-BK7, UV fused silica etc.

Corner cube prisms are prisms which act as corner reflectors, a type of retroreflectors. They are often used in the context of optical metrology, e.g. in interferometers, and in spectroscopy.
A rhomboid prism is a type of optical prism with parallel rhombus-shaped faces. It is designed to deviate the light path without causing image inversion or displacement. Rhomboid prisms are often used in optical systems for beam steering, displacement, or for compacting optical paths where space constraints are a concern. The precise angular specifications of the prism ensure accurate light deviation, making it suitable for applications in imaging, metrology, and laser systems.
An Amici roof prism, named for its inventor, the Italian astronomer Giovanni Battista Amici, is a type of reflecting prism used to deviate a beam of light by 90° while simultaneously inverting the image. It is commonly used in the eyepieces of telescopes as an image erecting system. It is sometimes called an Amici prism or right angle roof prism.
