Design and Material Selection

Design Phase:

Material Selection:

The choice of material is critical. MOK Optics uses high-quality optical glasses and plastics, including BK7, Fused Silica, and various high-refractive-index materials. The material selection depends on the application requirements such as transmission range, durability, and thermal stability.
Precision Molding and Grinding

Precision Molding:

For plastic aspheric lenses, we use precision molding techniques. High-precision molds are created based on the aspheric design. The optical plastic is heated and injected into these molds under controlled conditions to form the aspheric shape.

Grinding and Polishing:

For glass aspheric lenses, the production process involves precision grinding and polishing. CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines are used to grind the glass to the desired aspheric shape. The lenses are then polished to achieve the required surface smoothness and accuracy.

Quality Control and Coating

Quality Control:

Each lens undergoes rigorous quality control checks. Interferometric testing is used to measure the surface accuracy and ensure the lens meets the specified tolerances. Surface quality is checked for scratches and digs, and centering is verified to ensure optical alignment.

Coating:

Depending on the application, lenses may receive various optical coatings to enhance performance. Anti-reflective coatings, for example, can reduce surface reflections and improve transmission. Our coatings are applied in a clean-room environment to ensure the highest quality.

Customization:
